David Koons Throws Four Shutout Inning In Cyclones Win

David Koons improved to 4-1 on the season with four solid innings of relief pitching.  He gave up three hits and a walk with three strikeouts in four shutout innings.

Matthew Bouchard went two for four with a triple and three RBIs. Brandon Kawai singled and he scored two runs.

Cyclones Split Doubleheader With Tri-City

The Cyclones and Tri-City each took a game in their doubleheader.  In game one, Raul Reyes went two for three with a walk, a homerun and two runs scored.  Grady Hinchman picked up the win with 1 1/3 innings of shutout relief in the 6-3 win.

The second game didn’t go as well.  David Koons gave up five runs in the sixth inning and he took the loss.  Will Vogl singled, drove in a run and scored in the 7-3 loss.

Sand Gnats Come From Behind in 4-3 Win Over RiverDogs

The Sand Gnats scored three runs in the final two frames to come back and beat the RiverDogs 4-3.  Josh Thole drove in two of those runs and he doubled while Daniel Stegall went two for four with a double and an RBI.

Julio Polanco was hit hard in his start and he gave up three runs in four innings.  David Koons picked up the win and he got the final four batters out to wrap up the game.
