Sand Gnats Lose Two Games to RiverDogs In Doublheader Sweep

The Sand Gnats had a tough time and scored a collective two runs in their pair of losses to the RiverDogs.  In the first game, a nice start by Jeremy Mizell went to waste and he fell to 3-9 despite the effort.  He gave up two runs on five hits and two walks with five strikeouts in 6 2/3 innings.  D.J. Wabick provided the lone run in the 2-1 loss with a solo homerun.

In the second game, the Sand Gnats once again got just the one run, once again off a solo homerun.  Joe Holden provided the long ball and he finished the game two for four.  Josh Stinson took the loss and he fell to 3-9 on the season.  He gave up four runs (three earned) on six hits and three walks with one strikeout in 4 1/3 innings.

Julio Polanco Is Hit Hard In Sand Gnats Loss

Julio Polanco dropped to 1-5 on the season with a rough start in the Sand Gnats 7-4 loss to Rome.  He gave up five runs on nine hits and two walks with two strikeouts in four innings of work.

D.J. Wabick went two for four with a double and two RBIs.  Joe Holden went three for five with two runs.

Sand Gnats Doubled Up By Rome

The Sand Gnats lost to Rome 6-3 and it was Matt Durkin who took the loss.  He gave up six runs (four earned) on eight hits and three walks with five strikeouts in five innings and the loss dropped him to 4-5 on the season.

D.J. Wabick provided most of the Sand Gnats offense with a two run homer in the fourth inning.  Brahiam Maldanado went two for three with a run.

Jeremy Mizell Is Hit Hard In Sand Gnats Loss

Jeremy Mizell fell to 3-7 on the season in a tough start in the Sand Gnats 7-3 loss to the RiverDogs.  He gave up four runs (three earned) on seven hits and a walk with two strikeouts in four innings.

The Sand Gnats had more errors (4) then runs (3) but D.J. Wabick was the hitting star for the Sand Gnats.  He went three for four and he scored a run.

Sand Gnats Edge Cat Fish 3-2

Matt Durkin improved to 4-3 on the season with a nice start in the Sand Gnats’ 3-2 win over the Cat Fish.  He gave up one run on four hits and a walk with four strikeouts in seven quality innings.

D.J. Wabick was the hitting star in the win.  He went two for five with an RBI.

Sand Gnats Held To Three Hits In Loss To Catfish

The Sand Gnats hitters were held in check in a 4-2 loss to the Catfish.  D.J. Wabick went one for four with a double and he scored both runs in the loss.

Tim Stronach took the loss despite a decent start.  He gave up two runs on four hits and one walk with three strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings.

Sand Gnats Hit Three Homers in Loss to Greenville

The Sand Gnats belted three homeruns, but unfortunately they still lost 5-4.  Brahiam Maldonado hit a two run shot and D.J. Wabick and Hector Pellot each hit solo shots.

Nelson Portillo was roughed up and he took the loss in a relief appearance.  He gave up three runs on five hits and a walk with four strikeouts in 3 1/3 innings.
