Well, it looks like St. Lucie blew their chance yesterday because Eric Brown was shelled as their season ended with a 13-2 loss to Brevard County. Brown gave up six runs in 2 1/3 innings but he had some help because the pen yielded seven runs as well.
Emmanuel Garcia was the hitting star in the loss. He had a team high three hits in the game. Nick Evans doubled, drew a walk, scored a run and drove in one.
Four players had multihit games in St. Lucie’s 6-1 win over Fort Myers but only one had more then one RBI and that was Daniel Murphy. He went two for four with three RBIs and a run. Emmanuel Garcia had a nice game as well and he went four for five with two runs.
Jacob Ruckle gave up just one unearned run in five innings but he didn’t get a decision. The win went to Joe Hietpas, who gave up just one hit in two shutout innings.
Tobi Stoner had his second straight rought start but you have to feel for him because a lot of it wasn’t his fault. He gave up four hits and two walks while he got just two batters but his inning should have been over before a lot of the damage happened. So while he was tagged for eight runs, only two of them were earned and even one of those scored after he came out of the game.
Emmanuel Garcia was the hitting star in the 12-2 loss. He went three for five with a triple and a run.
Eric Brown dropped to 3-3 in St. Lucie’s 4-2 loss to Clearwater. He gave up four runs on seven hits and two walks with three strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings.
Jamar Hill went two for four with a double and a run. Emmanuel Garcia singled twice and he drove in a run.
It took ten innings but St. Lucie took care of business with a 4-3, ten inning win. Emmanuel Garcia was the hitting star and he went one for four with two RBIs and a run. Joshua Petersen went two for two with two walks and a run.
Eddie Camacho picked up the win with two shutout innings of relief. He threw two shutout frames and he gave up just one hit with four strikeouts.
Deolis Guerra picked up his first win of the season with six shutout innings in his start. He gave up two hits and he struck out four and his record now stands at 1-2.
Daniel Murphy had a nice day at the plate in the 5-2 win. He went three for five with a double and three RBIs. Emmanuel Garcia and Jose Castro each finished with two runs.
