German Marte gave up a run in the top of the tenth inning and he took the loss as St. Lucie lost to Tampa 3-2. A pretty good start by Deolis Geurra went to waste because of the lack of run support. He gave up two runs on two hits and three walks with three strikeouts in five innings.
Nick Evans belted a solo homerun to account for one of the Mets two runs. Ender Chavez went two for three and he was the only hitter with two hits in the game.
German Marte gave up two runs in the bottom of the eighth as a 2-1 lead turned into a 3-2 loss in a hurry. Marte dropped to 0-1 on the season and a nice start by Deolis Guerra went to waste. He gave up one run on four hits with four strikeouts in five innings of work.
Ambriox Concepcion was the hitting star in the loss. He went two for four and he drove in both Mets runs in the fifth innings.
A pretty good start by Robert Parnell went to waste with some pretty poor pitching out of the pen. Parnell gave up one unearned run on two hits and two walks with six strikeouts in five innings of work. German Marte gave up the lead with two runs eighth and then Nick Abel lost it in the tenth.
Sean Henry was the hitting star in the 4-3 loss. He went two for four with a solo homerun.
