Jonathan Niese improved to 6-3 on the season with a nice start in St. Lucie’s 3-1 win over Jupiter. He gave up just one unearned run on five hits with seven strikeouts in seven solid innings.
Dustin Martin singled and drove in two runs in the win. Jamar Hill went two for three with a double and a run.
Dustin Martin singled home Jamar Hill in the bottom of the ninth to win it for St. Lucie in their 5-4 win over Vero Beach. To get to that point, they got a couple of big homeruns. Both Joshua Petersen and Sean Henry went yard and each had nice days that plate in the win.
Brandon Nall picked up the win with two shutout innings of relief. He struck out two and gave up two hits.
Eric Brown dropped to 3-3 in St. Lucie’s 4-2 loss to Clearwater. He gave up four runs on seven hits and two walks with three strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings.
Jamar Hill went two for four with a double and a run. Emmanuel Garcia singled twice and he drove in a run.
Jonathan Niese was hit hard in St. Lucie’s loss to Clearwater. He gave up five runs on seven hits with three strikeouts in 1 2/3 innings. The loss drops his record to 3-3 on the season.
Jamar Hill was the hitting star in the 9-6 loss. He went two for four with a solo homerun and two runs scored.
Jonathan Niese got it done on the mound for St. Lucie in their 5-2 win. He gave up just one run on six hits and he struck out four.
Jamar Hill had a nice day at the plate. He went two for four with a run and an RBI. Daniel Murphy doubled and he scored two runs.
St. Lucie didn’t score a single run in their 7-0 loss to Jupiter. Jamar Hill picked up two of the Mets’ four hits and I guess he could be considered the hitting star.
Jonathan Niese was hit hard and he took the loss. He gave up six runs (three earned) on ten hits and a walk with three strikeouts in 2 2/3 innings.
