Adam Bostick had an impressive start and he improved his record to 2-1. He gave up just two hits and two walks with four strikeouts in six shutout innings.
Lastings Milledge was the hitting star in the 3-2 win. He went two for four with a double, two runs and an RBI.
New Orleans hung to win today in a tight 7-6 game that saw Memphis score four runs in the final two frames. Jason Alfaro had the big hit of the game though. He went two for four with a grand slam in the sixth inning to give the Zephyrs the lead. Lastings Milledge had a great day at the plate as well. He was a perfect four for four with a solo homerun and three runs.
Jorge Sosa picked up the win and he improved to 2-0. He gave up just two runs on seven hits and a walk with seven strikeouts.
The Zephyrs won 6-5 and a lot of that is because of a great start by Jason Vargas. He improved to 2-0 on the season and he gave up one run on one hit and three walks with five strikeouts in six innings of work.
Fernando Tatis hit a two run homer and that was his second long ball this year. Carlos Gomez drove in two runs and Lastings Milledge went one for two with a run and an RBI.
Jorge Sosa threw a nice game for the Zephyrs but the hitters couldn’t get anything going. He gave up two unearned runs on seven hits and a walk with four strikeouts in seven innings of work.
Fernando Tatis hit a solo homerun for the Zephyrs. Carlos Gomez doubled and finished with two hits while Lastings Milledge made made his Zephyrs debut with a one for three game.
