Dylan Owen pitched the Cyclones into the New York/Penn League championship as the Cyclones swept the Yankees after a 3-1 win. Owen gave up four hits and he struck out seven in five shutout inning to pick up the win.
Lucas Duda went two for four with an RBI. Raul Reyes doubled, drove in a run and scored.
The Cyclones took a 1-0 lead in their best of three game playoff series with the Staten Island Yankees with a come from behind 8-4 win. Staten Island was up 4-2 but they scored two in the sixth to tie it and four in the ninth to win it. Lucas Duda went two for five with a homerun and four RBIs while Raul Reyes went three for four with a run and an RBI.
The pen really did a nice job in the win. Three relievers combined to throw five shutout innings and it was Stephen Clyne who picked up the win with two perfect innings.
Brooklyn turned on the offense as they blew out Tri-City 16-7 and just about everyone was a hitting star. Lucas Duda had a team high four hits with two runs and two RBIs. Jason Jacobs went two for four with two walks, two runs and two RBIs.
Nicholas Carr picked up the win and he improved to 2-0 on the season. He gave up four runs on nine hits with six strikeouts in five innings.
Jeffrey Voyles was one of the hitting stars in the Cyclones 6-1 win over Staten Island. He went two for three with two doubles, two runs and an RBI. Lucas Duda had a nice game as well and he went two for four with two doubles and a run.
Dylan Owen picked up the win. He threw two shutout innings of relief.
