The Mets got two big homeruns in the ninth inning to beat the Defenders 5-3. Wilson Batista hit a solo homerun to make it a one run game and then Mark Kiger hit a three run homer to give the Mets what they needed to win it.
Marcelo Perez picked up the win with a shutout inning of relief. The offense bailed out Robert Parnell, who had a mediocre start.
Three different pitchers combined to give up ten runs in a 10-6 loss to Altoona. Marcelo Perez took the brunt of the damage and he gave up four runs in just 2/3 of inning. Perez also took the loss and he dropped to 0-3 on the season.
Binghamton scored all six of their runs in the fifth inning. Mike Carp only finished with one double, but he drove in two and scored on as he took part in half of the Mets six runs.
The pitching wasn’t up to snuff today in Binghamton’s 7-5 loss to the Fisher Cats. Jose Sanchez had a tough start and he gave up four runs on five hits and three walks with two strikeouts in just two innings. Marcelo Perez took the loss and he gave up two runs in just 2 1/3 innings.
Brett Harper drove in two runs in the loss. Caleb Stewart doubled, drove in a run and scored.
