Marcos Carvajal threw six shutout innings in the Mets 5-2 wn over the Defenders. Unfortunately, all of the offense came late so he didn’t pick up the win. That went to Joseph Serfass, who pitched a shutout seventh.
Caleb Stewart had the big hit of the game. His grand slam was the difference in the win.
Binghamton got some solid pitching in their 6-2, eleven inning win over the Defenders. Marcos Carvajal gave up two runs in his four inning start but then the pen really came through. Ricardo Morales threw three shutout innings and Tim McNab threw four. McNab picked up the win and he improved to 3-0 on the season.
Jose A. Reyes and Jose Coronado each had nice games at the plate. They both had two hits, a run and an RBI.
Binghamton lost a tough one today as they blew a three run lead in the ninth and then the Fisher Cats scored a run in the thirteenth as the Mets lost 5-4. A really nice start by Marcos Carvajal went to waste. He gave up one hit and two walks in five shutout innings. Ryan Cullen took the loss when he gave up the single run in the thirteenth.
Corey Ragsdale had a nice game at the plate. He went two for five with a double, two RBIs and a run. Jose Coronado went two for five with two runs.
Binghamton was blown out and starter Marco Carvajal took it on the chin with a pretty poor start. He gave up nine runs on twelve hits and two walks with three strikeouts in just four innings.
Caleb Stewart hit a solo homerun in the 12-4 loss. Miguel Negron provided most of the runs with a three run homerun.
