Marcos Carvajal improved to 4-6 on the season with a really nice start in the Mets 3-1 win over the Defenders. He gave up one unearned run on four hits and a walk with one strikeout.
Mike Carp was the hitting star in the win. He went two for four with a double and he drove in all three Mets runs.
Kevin Tomasiewicz had a tough time and he took the loss in only 1/3 of the an inning. He gave up three runs on three hits and a walk.
Mike Carp provided most of the offense in the Mets loss. He went three for four with a homerun, three RBIs and two runs.
Three different pitchers combined to give up ten runs in a 10-6 loss to Altoona. Marcelo Perez took the brunt of the damage and he gave up four runs in just 2/3 of inning. Perez also took the loss and he dropped to 0-3 on the season.
Binghamton scored all six of their runs in the fifth inning. Mike Carp only finished with one double, but he drove in two and scored on as he took part in half of the Mets six runs.

Mike Carp had a big day at the plate. He went three for five with two doubles, a homerun and two runs.
I’m not sure what’s more shocking. That Binghamton gave up nineteen hits or that they actually took this game into extra innings before losing it 10-7. Anyway, Carlos Muniz gave up three runs in the top of the tenth as Portland escaped with the win. Ryan Cullen had a particularly good relief outing. He threw two shutout innings and he struck out four.
Mike Carp hit his first homerun of the season and he scored twice in the loss. Nic Jackson and Miguel Negron each drove in two runs.
