Jason Vargas improved to 7-5 on the season with an excellent start in the Zephyrs’ 4-1 win over Nashville. He gave up just two hits and two walks with seven strikeouts in seven innings of work.
Jesus Feliciano went one for one with two walks and two runs. Andy Tracy belted a solo homerun.
Philip Humber improved to 10-6 on the season with a nice start in the Zephyrs’ 4-1 win over Nashville. He gave up one run on four hits and two walks with four strikeouts in 7 2/3 innings.
Fernando Tatis went two for three with a double, two RBIs and a run. Anderson Hernandez went two for four with a triple and two runs.
The Zephyrs were pummelled by the Isotopes 11-5 and Jason Vargas took the brunt of that damage. He gave up nine runs on six hits and three walks with two strikeouts in two innings and the loss drops him to 6-5 on the season.
Jesus Feliciano was the hitting star in the loss. He went two for three with a walk, a homerun and two RBIs.
The Zephyrs were beat up by the Isotopes 10-3 to open the second half and the hitters managed to pick up just three hits in the entire game. Miguel Negron was the only hitter to reach base twice with a walk and a single and he drove in one of the Zephyrs runs.
Jose Santiago was hit hard and he fell to 3-6 on the season. He gave up seven runs on eight hits and two walks with four strikeouts in 3 2/3 innings.
