Dylan Owen pitched the Cyclones into the New York/Penn League championship as the Cyclones swept the Yankees after a 3-1 win. Owen gave up four hits and he struck out seven in five shutout inning to pick up the win.
Lucas Duda went two for four with an RBI. Raul Reyes doubled, drove in a run and scored.
The Cyclones took a 1-0 lead in their best of three game playoff series with the Staten Island Yankees with a come from behind 8-4 win. Staten Island was up 4-2 but they scored two in the sixth to tie it and four in the ninth to win it. Lucas Duda went two for five with a homerun and four RBIs while Raul Reyes went three for four with a run and an RBI.
The pen really did a nice job in the win. Three relievers combined to throw five shutout innings and it was Stephen Clyne who picked up the win with two perfect innings.
The Cyclones and Tri-City each took a game in their doubleheader. In game one, Raul Reyes went two for three with a walk, a homerun and two runs scored. Grady Hinchman picked up the win with 1 1/3 innings of shutout relief in the 6-3 win.
The second game didn’t go as well. David Koons gave up five runs in the sixth inning and he took the loss. Will Vogl singled, drove in a run and scored in the 7-3 loss.
Nicholas Carr was extremely impressive in the Cyclones 3-0 win over Hudson Valley. He gave up two hits and a walk with ten strikeouts in six shutout innings.
Jeffrey Voyles went two for five with a double and an RBI. Raul Reyes hit a solo homer in the win.
