The Zephyrs got it all in their 11-1 win over Salt Lake. Jason Vargas threw a gem of a game and he gave up just one run on three hits and one walk with seven strikeouts in 6 2/3 innings. The win pushes his record to 4-3 on the season.
Ricky Ledee had a big day at the plate. He went three for five with a double, a homerun, five RBIs and two runs. Sandy Alomar, Jr. went two for four with a three run homer and Chip Ambres went two for four with an RBI and three runs.
The Zephyrs took a 7-4 lead into the bottom of the ninth when Guillermo Mota collapsed and gave up four runs in the bottom of the ninth to lose it. He dropped to 0-1 on the season and it was by far his worst relief appearance of the season.
Andy Tracy hit homerun number twelve and he drove in two runs. Ricky Ledee went three for four with a homerun and two runs scored.
Down 4-0, the Zephyrs scored three runs in the seventh and one in the eighth to send the game into extra frames. Then in the tenth, Rickey Ledee scored on a walk off sac. fly by Anderson Hernandez. Robinson Cancel played a big part in the comeback. He went two for four with a double, a homerun, two RBIs and two runs.
Jose Santiago was hit hard in his start and he gave up four runs in five innings. Steve Schmoll threw a shutout tenth and he picked up the win.
The Zephyrs mounted a huge come back in their 9-8, eleven inning win over Omaha. Down 8-4, they scored four runs in the bottom of the ninth to send the game into extra frames. Then in the tenth, Anderson Hernandez hit a walk off homer to win it for the Zephyrs.
Ricky Ledee had a nice game at the plate. He went two for five with a homerun, three RBIs and two runs. Hernandez finished with two RBIs and two runs.
Philip Humber was hit hard in the win but the hitters picked him up. Eddie Camacho picked up the win with two shutout innings to close out the game.
The Zephyrs outscored Las Vegas 9-8 and they out hit them 15=14 as the pitching went out the window in this one. Jason Alfaro went three for four with a double, a run and an RBI. Ricky Ledee and Andy Tracy each hit two runs homers in the win.
Ryan Cullen picked up the win but it was more of a right place, right time situation because he also gave up the lead in his one inning of work. Ivan Maldonado struck out the final two batters and he picked up his third save of the season.
The Zephyrs ran up the scored on the Istopes to the tune of 17 runs and 23 hits. Ricky Ledee had a monster game and he went four for five with a homerun and seven RBIs. Andy Tracy also had a huge game and he went five for six with a homerun, three RBIs and four runs. In this one, just about everyone was a hitting star.
Chan Ho Park picked up the win despite getting shelled in the 17-8 loss. He gave up six runs on eight hits and three walks with seven strikeouts in five innings.
