Robert Parnell and Binghamton were outdueled by the Defenders in a 2-1 loss. In the game, a nice start by Robert Parnell went to waste. He gave up just one run on four hits and two walks with seven strikeouts in six innings.
Mark Kiger doubled twice and he scored the only run for the Mets. Corey Coles went three for five.
It’s hard to believe this game was tied 2-2 through six innings. Then all hell broke loose and the two teams combined to scored ten runs in the final three frames with Reading coming out on top 8-6.
Fernando Martinez went two for four with a homerun and three RBIs. Mark Kiger went one for three with a double, a walk and two runs.
Robert Parnell took the loss but he wasn’t horrible. He gave up three runs on five hits and three walks with four strikeouts in five innings. Joseph Serfass was shelled and he gave up five runs in two innings.
Mike Nickeas drove home Enrique Cruz in the top of the eleventh inning to give the Mets the run they needed to top Harrisburg. Mark Kiger was the hitting star in the game though. He went four for five with a homerun, two RBIs and two runs.

The Mets got two big homeruns in the ninth inning to beat the Defenders 5-3. Wilson Batista hit a solo homerun to make it a one run game and then Mark Kiger hit a three run homer to give the Mets what they needed to win it.
Marcelo Perez picked up the win with a shutout inning of relief. The offense bailed out Robert Parnell, who had a mediocre start.
Robert Parnell dropped to 3-3 on the season with a rough start in the Mets 6-2 loss to Lakeland. He gave up four runs on six hits and three walks with five strikeouts in five innings of work.
Dustin Martin was the hitting star in the loss. He went four for four with a solo homerun.
St. Lucie had plenty of hitting stars in their 11-3 win over Dunedin but Sean Henry led the way. He went three for six with two triples, four RBIs and a run. Daniel Murphy went two for six with two doubles and three RBIs.
Robert Parnall picked up the win with a nice start. He improved to 3-2 and he gave up one run on five hits and a walk with three strikeouts.
St. Lucie beat Clearwater 5-3 and St. Lucie Robert Parnell got it done on the mound. He gave up just two runs on five hits and three walks with ten strikeouts and the win improved his record to 2-2 on the season.
Dustin Martin doubled and he drove in two runs. Joshua Petersen scored two runs and Daniel Murphy hit a solo homerun.
A pretty good start by Robert Parnell went to waste with some pretty poor pitching out of the pen. Parnell gave up one unearned run on two hits and two walks with six strikeouts in five innings of work. German Marte gave up the lead with two runs eighth and then Nick Abel lost it in the tenth.
Sean Henry was the hitting star in the 4-3 loss. He went two for four with a solo homerun.
Robert Parnell had a fantastic start today against Daytona. He gave up two hits and two walks with an impressive nine strikeouts in six innings. It was his first win of the season and he improved to 1-1.
Jose Castro had a huge day at the plate. He went four for four and he drove in one of the runs with a solo homerun in the 2-0 win.
Robert Parnall had a solid start today for the Mets but he took the loss. He gave up a single run on eight hits with six strikeouts in five innings of work. No hitting stars because nobody did much of anything with the stick.
Dustin Martin had a nice game at the plate in St. Lucie’s 5-3 win over Vero Beach. He went three for four with a double and an RBI in the win. Jose Castro doubled and scored a run.
Robert Parnell was bounced after four innings and he didn’t pick up a decision in his start. The pen threw five shutout innings though and Nick Abel picked up the win with two shutout frames.
