Waner Mateo Shelled In St. Lucie Loss

Waner Mateo lost his first game of the season in a tough relief appearance for St. Lucie in their 9-7 loss to Vero Beach.  He gave up five runs (three earned) on five hits with two strikeouts in just two innings.

Jose Castro was the hitting star in the loss.  He went three for five with an RBI and a run.

St. Lucie’s Pen Is Hit Hard In Loss to Vero Beach

St. Lucie outhit Vero Beach 15-13 but they lost 6-4 as their pen collapsed in extra innings.  Each team scored a run in the ninth to keep it going, then they did the same thing in the tenth.  Finally in the eleventh, Vero Beach scored two and St. Lucie couldn’t answer.  Grady Hinchman gave up those two eleventh inning runs and he took the loss.

Drew Butera was the hitting star in the loss. He went two for five with a homerun and three RBIs.

Joshua Petersen, Sean Henry Power St. Lucie to Win Over Vero Beach

Dustin Martin singled home Jamar Hill in the bottom of the ninth to win it for St. Lucie in their 5-4 win over Vero Beach.  To get to that point, they got a couple of big homeruns.  Both Joshua Petersen and Sean Henry went yard and each had nice days that plate in the win.

Brandon Nall picked up the win with two shutout innings of relief.  He struck out two and gave up two hits.

St. Lucie Wins Third Straight Behind Two RBIs By Daniel Murphy

Daniel Murphy provided most of the offense in St. Lucie’s 3-2 win over Dunedin.  He went one for one for three with a homerun and two RBIs.  Joshua Petersen went three for four with a double.

Kevin Tomasiewicz picked up the win with two shutout innings of relief.  He gave up two hits and he struck out one.

Ambiorix Concepcion Drives In Two Runs In St. Lucie Win

St. Lucie came from behind to beat Dunedin 3-2 and Ambiorix Concepcion led the way at the plate.  He went two for four with a double and he drove two of the three Mets runs. 

Jonathan Niese threw five solid frames and he gave up just one run in his start but he didn’t pick up the win.  Brandon Nall improved to 1-0 and he struck out one in two shutout innings.

Sean Henry Drives In Four Runs In St. Lucie Wins

St. Lucie had plenty of hitting stars in their 11-3 win over Dunedin but Sean Henry led the way.  He went three for six with two triples, four RBIs and a run.  Daniel Murphy went two for six with two doubles and three RBIs.

Robert Parnall picked up the win with a nice start.  He improved to 3-2 and he gave up one run on five hits and a walk with three strikeouts.

St. Lucie Blasted By Dunedin

Talk about an ugly game.  The pitchers gave up 12 runs and the hitters picked up just four hit in the 12-0 loss.  Daniel Murphy had the only extra base hit of the game with a double.

Jacob Ruckle took the loss and he dropped to 2-3.  He gave up six runs on four hits and three walks with two strikeouts in 3 1/3 innings.

St. Lucie Scores Twelve In Win Over Clearwater

Three different St. Lucie hitters drove in three runs in the Mets 12-9 win over Clearwater.  Sean Henry, Jose Castro and Ryan Coultas all pushed three runs across the plate.

Alexis Beras picked up the win with two shutout innings.  He gave up just one hit and a walk with three strikeouts.

Eric Brown Hit Hard In St. Lucie Loss

Eric Brown dropped to 3-3 in St. Lucie’s 4-2 loss to Clearwater.  He gave up four runs on seven hits and two walks with three strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings.

Jamar Hill went two for four with a double and a run.  Emmanuel Garcia singled twice and he drove in a run.

Jonathan Niese Hammered In Loss to Clearwater

Jonathan Niese was hit hard in St. Lucie’s loss to Clearwater.  He gave up five runs on seven hits with three strikeouts in 1 2/3 innings.  The loss drops his record to 3-3 on the season.

Jamar Hill was the hitting star in the 9-6 loss.  He went two for four with a solo homerun and two runs scored.

Robert Parnell Strikes Out Ten In Win Over Clearwater

St. Lucie beat Clearwater 5-3 and St. Lucie Robert Parnell got it done on the mound.  He gave up just two runs on five hits and three walks with ten strikeouts and the win improved his record to 2-2 on the season.

Dustin Martin doubled and he drove in two runs.  Joshua Petersen scored two runs and Daniel Murphy hit a solo homerun.

St. Lucie Blown Out By Brevard County

All three St. Lucie pitchers were hit hard in their 10-3 loss to Brevard County.  Jacob Ruckle took the loss and he dropped to 2-2 on the season.  He gave up four runs on four hits and a walk with three strikeouts in 2 2/3 innings.

Sean Henry drove in two runs in the loss.  Dustin Martin went two for five and he doubled.

St. Lucie Pitching Hit Hard In Loss To Brevard County

Jose De La Torre had a rough start in St. Lucie’s 10-5 loss to Brevard County.  He gave up five runs on seven hits and a walk with six strikeouts in five innings of work.  Each of the two relievers used also gave up at least two runs in the loss.

Ambiorix Concepcion went two for four with a run and an RBI.  Daniel Murphy doubled and drove in two runs.

Eric Brown Hit Hard in St. Lucie Loss

Eric Brown had a tough start in St. Lucie’s 8-7 loss to Brevard County.   He gave up six runs on ten hits and two walks with a strikeout in 4 1/3 innings.

Jose Castro was the hitting star in the loss.  He went three for four with a run and an RBI.

Jonathan Niese Pitches St. Lucie to Win Over Palm Beach

St. Lucie Held to Five Hits In Shutout Loss

St. Lucie loss their suspended game today against Palm Beach 1-0.  Jeramy Simmons took the loss despite a solid outing.  He gave up a run on four hits and a walk with two strikeouts in four innings.

Sean Henry was the hitting star in the loss.  He was the only Met with two hits in the game.
