St. Lucie took care of Sarasota 7-5 with both teams scoring runs in the final frames. Daniel Murphy went three for five with a double and a run while Ambriox Concepcion went two for five with two RBIs to lead the way for the Mets.
Jose De La Torre gave up the tying run in the eighth inning but he held on and held the Reds scoreless in the ninth to pick up his fourth win of the season. Tobi Stoner had a rough start and he gave up four runs on ten hits in 4 1/3 innings.
Dustin Martin doubled home a run in the seventh inning and then Ender Chavez singled home a run in the eighth to complete a comeback in St. Lucie’s 7-6 win over Tampa. Martin finished with three hits and two RBIs while Nick Evans doubled twice, scored two runs and drove in two.
Tobi Stoner had a rough start and he gave up six runs in 4 2/3 innings but the bullpen and the hitters picked him up. Jose De La Torre picked up the win and he threw two shutout innings of relief.
Both Dunedin and St. Lucie had a late flurry of runs but it was St. Lucie who came out on top 6-5. Jose Castro went three for four with a double, a run and an RBI. Dustin Martin went two for four with a two run homer.
Tobi Stoner had a nice start despite not getting the win. He gave up two runs (both unearned) on four hits and three walks with two strikeouts in five innings. Ricardo Morales gave up three runs in three innings and he picked up the win.
Tobi Stoner had his second straight rought start but you have to feel for him because a lot of it wasn’t his fault. He gave up four hits and two walks while he got just two batters but his inning should have been over before a lot of the damage happened. So while he was tagged for eight runs, only two of them were earned and even one of those scored after he came out of the game.
Emmanuel Garcia was the hitting star in the 12-2 loss. He went three for five with a triple and a run.
Brandon Nall gave up three tenth inning runs and he ruined Tobi Stoner’s St. Lucie debut. Stoner continued his solid season with a nice start. He gave up just two runs on seven hits with three strikeouts in seven innings.
Jose Castro was the hitting star in the 5-2 loss. He went three for four with an RBI.
The Sand Gnats won two one run game in their doubleheader over Rome. In the first game, Tobi Stoner is finally getting some run support and he improved to 3-5 on the season. He gave up three runs on six hits and a walk with three strikeouts. Daniel Stegal went two for three with two RBIs and a run.
In the second game, once again the Sand Gnats did just enough to pick up the win in a 5-4 win. Julio Polanco gave up one run and he struck out six in four solid innings. Greg Veloz went two for three with two doubles, two runs and an RBI.
The Sand Gnats edged the Catfish 4-3 and Tobi Stoner picked up his second win of the season with a nice start. He gave up two unearned runs on six hits and a walk with five strikeouts.
Josh Thole was the hitting star in the win. He went two for five with two doubles, a run and an RBI.
Another solid start by Tobi Stoner went to waste today. He gave up two runs on six hits and four walks with four strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings. In four of his last five starts, he’s given up two runs or less and thrown at least 5 1/3 innings and he has only one win to show for it. His other numbers look nice. He has 42 strikeouts and just 15 walks in 46 1/3 innings. He’s also given up just one homerun and he’s held hitters to a .255 average.
Leivi Ventura was the hitting star in the 5-2 loss. He went two for four with a double and an RBI.
The Sand Gnats scored all three of their runs in their 3-2 win in the third inning and while they saw Kannapolis chip away at the lead, the closest things got was a one run deficit. Tobi Stoner had a great start and he picked up his first win of the season. He gave up just one run on two hits and he didn’t walk a single batter with five strikeouts in seven innings of work.
Hector Pellot had a the big hit in the game. He singled and drove in two of the Sand Gnats three runs.
Tobi Stoner didn’t nab his first win yet, but it wasn’t because of his performance on the mound. He gave one unearned run on just two hits and he struck out six in six solid innings. He set a season high for strikeouts and innings. Unfortunately, Todd Privitt wasn’t as good and he gave up four runs after Stoner left as the Sand Gnats lost it 5-3.
Josh Thole was the hitting star. He went two for four and he scored one of the runs.
Tobi Stoner dropped to 0-3 in a loss to Savannah but this one was a tough one because outside of a tough first inning, he threw a nice game. While he was credited with three runs, the final run that put Savannah ahead came off a double by Jonathan Castillo that he inherited from Stoner so the pen deserves some credit in the loss as well. Stoner did strike out four in 4 1/3 innings and from the end of the first inning on, he retired eleven consecutive batters.
Josh Thole was the only Sand Gnat with two hits in the game. He went two for four with two doubles and he scored one of the two runs.
Talk about ugly. Six different Sand Gnats piled up eight errors in todays game and the end result was seven unearned runs. The pitching wasn’t all that great either but this was downright embarassing. Tobi Stoner dropped to 0-2 and he gave up five unearned runs.
Leivi Ventura tripled and drove in three runs in the 12-5 loss. Juan Lagares went two for three with a triple, a run and an RBI.
Often while going on golf vacations, carrying golf clubs and other golf equipment along can be quite a burden. One can instead purchase all of this and more from golf galaxy. Not only this but tennis as well as baseball and lacrosse equipment is easily available from there.
***UPDATE***
Check out the comments on this one because I made a mistake and got called out on it. I’m sorry for the mistake and I hope to keep better track of things in the future.
