Things were looking pretty good for the Cyclones. Dillon Gee cruised through the first five innings and he gave up just four hits with eight strikeouts. When he left the game, Brooklyn was up 1-0. Then the roof caved in on them as Stephen Clyne was hammered for three runs and William Morgan was hammered for four runs as a pitcher’s duel turned into a blowout really quick.
Jacob Eigsti went two for three with a walk in the 7-1 loss. Will Vogl was the other Cyclone hitter with two hits.
The Brooklyn Cyclones had a tough time at the plate in their 5-1 loss to Hudson Valley. Will Vogl was the only Cyclone to reach base twice with a hit and a walk and he also scored the Cyclone’s only run.
J.J. Leaper took the loss in a mediocre start. He gave up three runs on six hits with three strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings.
Nicholas Waechter had a tough time in the Cyclones first off the season. He gave up four runs on four hits and two walks with three strikeouts in 4 1/3 innings.
Will Vogl was the hitting star in the 6-3 loss. He went two for four with two RBIs.
