Greg Mullens Gets No Support In First Loss of the Season

by @ 6:21 pm. Filed under Greg Mullens, Hector Pellot, Savannah Sand Gnats - May 2007

Greg Mullens dropped his first start of the season and while he wasn’t fantastic, he also wasn’t horrible.  He gave up four runs (three earned) on six hits and a walk with one strikeout in 6 2/3 innings.  It’s only the first time he’s been tagged with three earned runs and while he hasn’t struck out a ton of guys (12 in 33 2/3 innings), he’s held opposing hitters to a .213 batting average.  He’s helped himself out by not giving up a homerun yet this year.

Joe Holden drove in the only run of the game for the Sand Gnats in the 5-1 loss.  Hector Pellot was the only Sand Gnat with two hits.
