Sand Gnats Make Eight Errors in Blowout Loss to Greenville

by @ 7:22 am. Filed under Leivi Ventura, Savannah Sand Gnats - April 2007, Tobi Stoner

Talk about ugly.  Six different Sand Gnats piled up eight errors in todays game and the end result was seven unearned runs.  The pitching wasn’t all that great either but this was downright embarassing.  Tobi Stoner dropped to 0-2 and he gave up five unearned runs.

Leivi Ventura tripled and drove in three runs in the 12-5 loss.  Juan Lagares went two for three with a triple, a run and an RBI.

Often while going on golf vacations, carrying golf clubs and other golf equipment along can be quite a burden. One can instead purchase all of this and more from golf galaxy. Not only this but tennis as well as baseball and lacrosse equipment is easily available from there.

***UPDATE***

Check out the comments on this one because I made a mistake and got called out on it.  I’m sorry for the mistake and I hope to keep better track of things in the future.

Ray, I’m Tobi Stoner’s Dad and I’m really surprised that you could degrade his performance last night. I felt that Tobi, along with many others, felt that he put on his best performance this year. He was not the one who gave up the five unearned runs, it was the defense behind him. He certainly did not deserve the loss and I really believe that you know that Ray. I’m sure that you have enough knowledge of the game to where you can give credit where credit is due. His past two appearances was not impressive and does not deserve alot of credit, but last night he deserves more than what you have given him. It’s early in the season Ray and I’m telling you that Tobi is going to show you a thing or two. Be ready for Tobi to have a great season. You certainly don’t know him like I do, so be ready for some fireworks. He’s a competitor and will get better as time goes on. Thanks so much Ray and I look forward to hearing from you. I appreciate your reporting although not accurate!! ha ha ha ha. Take Care Ray

  2. Ray Wilson Says:

You’re right Neal. I didn’t give Tobi his due. Five hits in five innings is a solid outing and I honestly don’t know what I saw that made me say what I did. To say his pitching “wasn’t all that great” was a mistake and I appreciate you calling me out on it. And I’m definitely rooting for Tobi, as I am the Sand Gnats in general.

  3. Neal Stoner Says:

Ray, thanks so much for writing back. I just got finished listening to the Gnats and Riverdogs. Needless to say that it wasn’t a good outing for Tobi. He called me to reflect his disgust in his performance. He just didn’t feel it tonight. I guess you will have days like that. Right Ray? Again, thanks for the return General and please take care.

  4. James Lee Says:

I feel Tobi is better than a 0-3 record. He is just not getting the defense and offense that the other starting pitchers are getting. Tobi will be getting better. GOOD LUCK to Tobi and the Sandgnats.
