Sand Gnats Offense Held In Check In Loss to Rome

by @ 6:29 pm. Filed under Tobi Stoner, Leivi Ventura, Savannah Sand Gnats - May 2007

Another solid start by Tobi Stoner went to waste today.  He gave up two runs on six hits and four walks with four strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings.  In four of his last five starts, he’s given up two runs or less and thrown at least 5 1/3 innings and he has only one win to show for it.  His other numbers look nice.  He has 42 strikeouts and just 15 walks in 46 1/3 innings.  He’s also given up just one homerun and he’s held hitters to a .255 average.

Leivi Ventura was the hitting star in the 5-2 loss.  He went two for four with a double and an RBI.
